How it works

Three moves, and the sun handles itself

🧴

Sunscreen, timed to the real UV

Raydrop follows the real UV index for your city and tells you when to slather up again, before it burns. The countdown shows on the lock screen and the Dynamic Island.

💧

The water round

A gentle nudge to drink before you're thirsty, paced to how hot it actually is. One round per person, counted glass by glass.

Frequently asked questions

What people ask us the most

What is the UV index?

The UV index measures the strength of solar radiation at ground level, on a World Health Organization scale from low to extreme. Raydrop shows it in real time for your location and adjusts its reminders accordingly.

Why reapply sunscreen every 2 hours?

Sun protection wears off with time, sweat, and water. The 2-hour mark is a safe baseline: Raydrop tightens it when the UV climbs, and eases off when there's no sun.

What's a skin type, and why does Raydrop ask?

Skin type describes how sensitive your skin is to the sun, from fairest to darkest. Raydrop uses it to estimate time to sunburn and adjust the pace of reminders for everyone in the crew.

Is Raydrop good for kids?

Yes: every kid can have their own profile, with tighter water reminders and dedicated sunscreen tracking. Raydrop helps you remember, it doesn't replace medical advice.

Does Raydrop collect my data?

No, no data is collected. Your approximate location is only used to query Apple's weather service for the local UV index. It stays on your phone.

How much does Raydrop cost?

The price is fixed: €4.99, one-time purchase. No hidden subscription.

Does Raydrop replace medical advice?

No. Raydrop helps you remember sunscreen and water; it doesn't replace medical advice. If you're on photosensitising medication or have at-risk skin, ask your doctor.

What device does Raydrop run on?

Raydrop is a native iOS app, with a widget and a lock-screen Live Activity to follow the countdown without opening the app.
